Orange County Backflow Testing

Orange County Utilities has its own Cross-Connection Control Program, which is separate from the requirements of Apopka, Winter Garden, Ocoee, and other municipal utilities inside the county.

Orange County Utilities testing rules

  • Commercial connections are tested annually at the property owner’s responsibility.
  • After initial installation and acceptance, residential program devices are tested every two years by Orange County Utilities.
  • Failed devices are repaired and retested or replaced and tested.
  • Testers reporting to OCU must hold acceptable certification and Orange County registration.
  • Test reports must be submitted to the water purveyor within 10 days of the initial test.
